A New Chapter Begins for This Centuries-Old Vineyard
Time as a Legacy
In the 13th century, the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem established a powerful religious and military commandery here in the Bordeaux countryside. The Antonine Brothers founded a hospital and hospice to provide protection and medical care to pilgrims travelling the roads to Compostela. Over the centuries, the religious community’s influence gradually faded, and by the 18th century the order was dissolved, its properties transferred to the Order of Malta.
It is this centuries-old history that gives its name to today’s Château de la Commanderie de Queyret.
Since its earliest days, the estate has passed through the hands of many winegrowers. Its most recent owners, the Comin family, spent over two centuries expanding and preserving the vineyard, handing down an exceptional terroir.
In 2025, a group of passionate men and women — each bringing years of experience dedicated to the wines of Bordeaux — took over the estate. Their ambition is to offer Bordeaux wines that honor their heritage, celebrate their diversity, and are firmly in tune with today’s ways of enjoying wine.
A Preserved Environment & a Rich Geological Heritage
The estate covers 100 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of forest, fostering biodiversity. This complementarity helps balance the ecosystems and strengthens the vineyard’s resilience to climate change.
The vines are cultivated in line with Level 3 High Environmental Value (HVE) agricultural practices.
The clay-limestone terroir, at an altitude of 100 meters, brings freshness to the vines and grapes — qualities that are reflected in the tension and balance of the estate’s wines.
Our vineyard is planted with red and white grape varieties, selected to express the full richness of our terroir.
Red varieties – 85 hectares: 75% Merlot / 9% Cabernet Sauvignon / 2% Cabernet Franc
White varieties – 15 hectares: 8% Sauvignon Blanc / 4% Muscadelle / 2% Sémillon
This harmonious balance produces red wines that are generous and elegant, alongside white wines that are fresh, aromatic, and well-balanced.
The Iconic collection
This new range has been inspired by the château's deep-rooted history - dating back to the 13th century by the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem — the very origin of the Château's current name. The Iconic Collection is a selection of the estate's finest tanks, blended with 50% of the lots aged in barrels.
The Timeless Collection
A range that stays true to the authentic spirit of Bordeaux wines, rich in diversity of taste and color. Each appellation reflects the expression of a specific blend, revealing the distinctive character and complementarity of the vineyard's grape varieties. Aromatic and elegant wines, perfect for every occasion.
The Single Vineyard Collection
These wines come from carefully selected plots, each one capturing the unique character of its terroirs where the grapes are harvested.
